Head's update - 12

Dear Parents & Carers,

I hope you’ve all managed to relax and adjust to what is fast becoming a new normal where we have to think about how many people we invite into our homes and gardens and wearing face coverings in shops.  At the moment I am keeping up to date with the Governments’ decisions about face coverings in school, it may be necessary for staff to wear them in communal areas.  If children wear face masks to school we will be teaching them how to safely take them off and put them on again, they will be required to bring a resealable plastic bag to put them in.

The teachers have been working hard to prepare their classrooms for all children to return to school and the leadership team have been preparing the risk assessment and training for staff.  Teachers and Teaching Assistants are all returning to school a day early to ensure the building complies with the risk assessment and is ready to welcome back all our pupils.

Next week you will receive the information booklet again to remind you which gate each year group will be using and the time your child is expected to arrive/depart school.

Things you should be doing during the holidays:

  • Keep reading - complete a short book review for my Reading Challenge!

  • Collect items for your ‘This Is Me’ Book - children will receive the book in September to stick their items in, these can be photos and mementos of things that represent them or their families.

Don’t forget if you are short of books here is the log-in to Myon:
