Wednesday 9th October 09.30-10.15 Monday 14th October 13.30-14.15 Tuesday 22nd October 09.30-10.15 Wednesday 6th November 09.30-10.15 Tuesday 19th November 13.30-14.15 Tuesday 3rd December 09.00-10.00 All sessions include a tour of our EYFS unit and of the whole school, where you will meet members of staff, including EYFS staff and Senior Leadership Team. We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success!

You can help us raise funds for our school when you shop in Asda and use the Asda Rewards App between the 2nd September and 30th November. Every time customers shop with Asda using their Rewards app, they can choose The Bewbush Academy School to receive 0.5% of the value of their shop- this is paid by Asda not by you! :) And that’s not all — every time a customer chooses The Bewbush Academy, Asda will donate £1 to our school’s Cashpot, plus a further £50 when the first customer uses the app to shop. Yesterday, Year 6 were lucky enough to be visited by Daire Casey - Energy Services Manager at West Sussex County Council. During their Geography lessons they have been learning about renewable and non renewable energy so were able to share so much information on energy with Mr Casey and he was incredibly impressed! They measured how much solar was being generated at various locations around the school with solar panels he had brought in. From this, they then discussed where the best locations would be to Install solar panels at our school. It was a very enjoyable and interesting morning. West Sussex County Council

Last Monday, Year 6 were joined by various cold-blooded vertebrates brought in by the AMAZING team at A.I.R Exotics, Crawley. This was to go along with part of their Science unit in classifying animals. They met Corn Snakes, a Tortoise, a huge Burmese Python, two Bearded Dragons, a Royal Python and a beautiful Blue-tongued Skink. I am sure the children have passed on some amazing facts about all the animals! If not, please ask them. They learnt where these animals are native to, what they eat, when they eat, shedding and lots, lots more! We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to be one of this year’s Co-op Local Community Causes. This is fantastic news, as it means that we will be working with the Co-op, over the next year, to raise funds for the school! All funds that we raise, will be designated towards developing a school allotment and sensory garden for all our pupils. We are hoping that you will be able to help us in fundraising?! It is easy to do! First, you become a Co-op member, (if you are not already one). You can do this in store, at coop.co.uk/membership, or by downloading the Co-op app (There is a £1 fee for doing this). Once you are a member, you can go online and select ‘The Bewbush Academy' as your cause. After that, every time you shop at any Co-op – 1% of your spend will be given back to the school. It’s as simple as that! The more people that have chosen our school as a cause, the more funds we raise! So, could we please ask you to share this information, with your family and friends.
