The Rainbow Room

DSC 0204

Miss Fassam and Miss Sewell are based in our Rainbow Room. The Rainbow Room incorporates everything about our Bewbush Rainbow. Miss Fassam and Miss Sewell are key members of our staff team- supporting children who may need some additional support to thrive during their time with us.

Miss Fassam and Miss Sewell work with children in small groups and 1-1. They have planned, regular time with groups of children but are also available to support any child who needs their nurturing support.

Their work with children in the Rainbow Room may include;

Respect

Building Respectful Relationships

Being a key person and trusted adult for children to seek out, including being welcomed into school for a 'soft start' to the school day. They help to build respectful relationships between children through leading planned friendship groups.

Ambitious

Working 1-1 and with groups of children to develop a growth mindset, to help keep them motivated and develop perseverence. Miss Sewell and Miss Fassam work with our children to develop skills and qualities which enable them to be ambitious in their learning, and in how they see themselves.

IndividualityWorking with key children in celebrating their individuality. Miss Sewell and Miss Fassam have a deep understanding of the uniqueness or our children and a beautiful way of supporting them in recognising, celebrating and helping them to express this.

NurtureCentral to our Bewbush Rainbow, is nurture. Within The Rainbow Room, Miss Fassam and Miss Sewell provide a nurturing, calm space. When children are feeling frustrated and dysregulated, they provide support and care until a child is ready to return to their classroom and to their learning.

BraveMiss Fassam and Miss Sewell work directly with children who are experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). They work with our Inclusion Lead to develop plans to support children to come into school. They work directly with many children to develop strategies which enable them to be brave, develop confidence and persevere.

Optimistic

Miss Sewell and Miss Fassam breathe optimism and help to foster a positive school culture for all of our children. They are encouraging and champion the children they work with through planned activities and interventions and through their everyday interactions with them.

WorthyMost importantly, Miss Fassam and Miss Sewell ensure that our children feel worthy and loved. They provide a safe space for children when they are struggling and ensure they feel a sense of belonging.
