Head's update 2
Dear Parents & Carers,
We continue to see most of our children back in school with lovely smiles and happy to slip into the new school routine. I’m pleased to see the new system at the gates is working better now that we have introduced the one way system onto the playground. We still need you to remember what time your child’s year group has been given to arrive and leave school, you cannot be early or late! A group of very keen Year 6 boys have been asked to arrive at 9am not before and we had some late pick-ups yesterday - please collect your child on time. If you do arrive early please stand back well out of the way of the children and parents who are dropping off/collecting, we really do need to keep each other safe.
There is a Facebook Post about us having a case of Covid-19 in school. This is absolutely not true, although we do have very clear procedures to follow should a child show symptoms we have not had to use them yet. If parents ring to say their child has symptoms we are telling them to keep the whole family at home and to apply for a test for the child/person with symptoms. No-one has, as yet, arrived at school with any of the three symptoms we are asked to look out for, nor have they tested positive;
High temperature, new, persistent, dry cough, loss of taste or smell.
As I said, we have not had a case in school yet.
When we do we will follow the procedures from Public Health England.
I need to protect your children and all the staff at The Bewbush Academy.
Our attendance has been amazing this week and as much as I want it to remain so I will not be putting anyone’s health at risk.
Please take care everyone and phone us if you are unsure of any signs of Coronavirus or ring NHS 111.
